The Enfield Island Youth and Community Trust (EIYCT) exists to work with the young people living on the Enfield Island Village. They seek to have a positive impact on the young people they work with, helping them with their social, emotional and health needs.
Their aim is to work with all young people, especially those who are on the edge of society, and who may be unable to access other resources. At the Trust, they help them move towards a brighter future.
They work in various different ways, including regular drop-in sessions, football coaching, girls group, MC and DJ workshops, street dance, art and cookery projects and extra activities in the school holidays, including trips to Thorpe Park, residentials, Go-Karting and graffiti projects.
They also provide a range of IT facilities available for all the young people to use, such as Nintendo Wii, Pool, table tennis, air hockey, Internet access and Playstation 3.
Alongside all this, they offer mentoring and additional support to the young people. They have a great team of staff and volunteers from different organisations and the local community. A steering group made up of the young people allows them to be involved in making decisions and running the centre.
The EIYCT is a registered charity (no. 1109131) and has a board of trustees consisting of local ward councillors, the chairman of the RSA Trust, members of EIVRAL, and community representatives as appropriate.
